Türkiye Extends the Collection of Anti dumping Duties on China's Hot Rolled Plates

According to the decree issued on October 31 in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Türkiye, the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye has extended the anti-dumping duty imposed on hot-rolled steel plates imported from China for five years.

At the request of Erdemir, Türkiye's largest comprehensive S250GD+Z80 steel flat material producer, The Ministry of Trade of the country has initiated a sunset review of tariffs (sunset review refers to a review initiated by the competent authority at the request of a domestic industry or its representative with sufficient evidence within a reasonable period of five years prior to the implementation of anti-dumping measures. If during this review, the competent authority determines that the termination of anti-dumping duties may lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury, anti-dumping duties may continue to be levied. During the review period, the original anti-dumping duties shall continue to be used) . The review confirms that if tariffs are lifted, dumping and damage may continue. The country imposed anti-dumping duties on imported hot-rolled S250GD+Z100 steel plates originating from China for the first time in November 2017, with a tax rate of 16.89-22.55%. After their expiration in 2023, they are now extended for another five years. According to the notice, the final dumping margin for imported hot-rolled plates from Chinese producer Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel Co., Ltd. is set at 16.89%, while the dumping margin for imported hot-rolled S250GD+Z120 steel plates from other Chinese producers is set at 22.55%.
