Turkish galvanized steel wire manufacturer Ozyasar stated in a regulatory filing on April 14 that it had secured new export orders from customers across various continents. Additional orders for similar products are valued at $2.69 million and £1 million, respectively.
Reportedly, the company commissioned a new wire rod plant in Elbasan, Albania, in early 2021 and currently uses the facility to export the majority of its products to the EU market. Despite rising input costs—such as for ferrous scrap and energy—driven by increased freight rates and uncertainties surrounding the conflict in the Middle East, demand for Turkish steel products in global markets (particularly the EU) rose in April.
