Turkey's imports of cold-rolled coils continued to grow significantly. Industry data shows that in October 2025, imports of cold-rolled coils increased by 65% year-on-year to 86,500 tons, mainly driven by a substantial increase in South Korean resources. South Korea's exports to Turkey reached 36,100 tons that month, more than quadrupling year-on-year, making it the largest source of supply; China and Russia supplied 18,300 tons and 16,800 tons respectively. 30G130 Grain oriented electrical steel, From January to October 2025, cumulative imports reached 888,500 tons, a year-on-year increase of 41%. Despite previous anti-dumping investigations initiated by regulatory authorities regarding cold-rolled, galvanized, and painted coils from China and South Korea, exports from these countries to Turkey continued to grow.

Looking at the main import sources, South Korea's cumulative supply to Turkey from January to October reached 285,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 61%; Russia's supply was 246,100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 90%; and China's supply was 216,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 40%. Industry insiders point out that with the accelerated growth of steel exports from Southeast Asian and East Asian countries, the competitive forces in the Far East are changing the global steel trade landscape. 30G130 Grain oriented electrical steel, Against this backdrop, Türkiye is also facing pressure on its domestic industries.

In contrast to the growth in imports, exports continued to weaken. Affected by weak demand in major export markets, cold-rolled coil exports in October fell 55% year-on-year to 22,800 tons. Cumulative exports from January to October 2025 are projected at 468,800 tons, a 22% year-on-year decrease. By country, Spain remains the largest export market, with cumulative imports of 78,100 tons, down 11% year-on-year; Greece imported 70,000 tons, down 34% year-on-year; and Italy imported 66,100 tons, down 35% year-on-year. Meanwhile, exports to Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, and Belgium were 65,000 tons, 28,000 tons, 24,200 tons, and 22,100 tons, respectively.

Regarding prices, the domestic price of cold-rolled coil in Turkey was $635/ton EXW in early December, a slight increase from the previous week. 30G130 Grain oriented electrical steel, Overall, the coexistence of strong import growth and continued pressure on exports reflects a temporary supply-demand imbalance in the Turkish cold-rolled coil market against the backdrop of changing global trade patterns and increasing external supply pressures, further challenging the competitive environment for the domestic industry.
