From January to September 2024, Europe S890Q Grade F steel will remain the main supplier of scrap in Türkiye, accounting for 66% (9.8 million tons) of Türkiye's total scrap imports, up from 63% (8.9 million tons) in 2023. North America (including the United States and Canada) exported 3.6 million tons of scrap steel to Türkiye, accounting for 24%.
The proportion of supply from other regions has not exceeded 10%. Among them, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) accounted for 3% (450000 tons) of Türkiye's total import of scrap steel, which was half of the same period last year; The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and South America S890Q Grade F steel each account for about 3%.
