Thailand launches second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel from China

On November 20, 2024, the Department of Foreign SG345W Grade D steel Trade of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand announced that, upon the application of domestic Thai enterprises, a second anti-dumping sunset review investigation will be launched on cold-rolled stainless steel coils, sheets, and strips originating in China. The Thai customs codes for the products involved are 72193200030, 72193200040, 72193300030, 72193300040, 72193400030, 72193400040, 72193500030, 72193500040, 72202010030, 72202010040, 72202090030, and 72202090040. During the investigation of the case, anti-dumping duties on the products involved shall be levied in the form of a SG345W Grade D steel deposit, with a validity period not exceeding one year. The announcement shall come into effect from the date of publication.

The survey questionnaire will be sent to stakeholders. Stakeholders who have not received the survey questionnaire can apply for it within 15 days of the announcement and submit their case review opinions and evidence materials within 30 days of the announcement.

On August 17, 2012, Thailand conducted an anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel coils, sheets, and strips originating from China. On December 12, 2012, Thailand made a positive final ruling on the case and decided to impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese products for a period of 5 years. Among them, Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., Tianjin Tisco&TPCO Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., Guangdong Taigang Stainless Steel Processing&Distribution Co., Ltd., Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Precision Strip Co., Ltd. were subject to anti-dumping sales tax of 0%. Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. The anti-dumping duty for less steel is 8.5%, while the anti-dumping duty for other Chinese companies is 33.32%.

On December 6, 2018, Thailand initiated its first anti-dumping sunset review investigation into Chinese cold-rolled stainless steel coils, sheets, and strips. On December 3, 2019, Thailand made a positive final ruling on the case and decided to continue imposing anti-dumping duties on Chinese products involved from December 4, 2019, with a tax SG345W Grade D steel rate of 8.50% -33.32% and a validity period of 5 years.
