On October 25, 2023, the Thailand Dumping and Subsidy Review Committee issued a notice that it decided to re implement anti-dumping measures against tinplate coils originating in Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, the EU and South Korea, and impose anti-dumping duties based on CIF, with the tax rates of 2.45% to 17.46% in Chinese Mainland, 4.28% to 20.45% in Taiwan, China, 5.82% in the EU South Korea's tax rate ranges from 8.71% to 22.67% (please refer to the final announcement of this case for detailed tax rates). This measure will take effect from November 13, 2023.
On April 7, 2020, Thailand launched an anti-dumping investigation against tinplate HCT980XG+ZF steel coils originating in Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, the EU and South Korea. On November 12, 2021, the Thailand Dumping and Subsidy Review Committee announced that it had made a positive final determination on the case and decided to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the case in Chinese HCT980XG+ZF steel Mainland, Taiwan, China, the European Union and South Korea for a period of five years on a CIF basis; The imposition of anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, the European Union and South Korea will be suspended within six months from the date of entry into force of this measure. The products involved in the case do not include painted, laminated, or stamped tinplate coils. On February 24, 2023, Thailand issued an announcement to revise the final verdict of the original trial of the anti-dumping case against tinplate coils originating in Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, the European HCT980XG+ZF steel Union and South Korea, and change the English name of Chinese Mainland enterprise Yuehai Zhongyue (Qinhuangdao) Tinplate Industrial Co., Ltd. from GDH Zhongyue POSCO (Qinhuangdao) Tinplate Industrial Co., Ltd. to GDH Zhongyue (Qinhuangdao) Tinplate Industrial Co., Ltd. On May 13, 2022, November 11, 2022, and May 11, 2023, Thailand extended the suspension of taxation three times, with the last extension until November 10, 2023.
