According to the presidential decree issued in the official gazette of Türkiye on August 2, 2024, the free trade agreement signed between Türkiye and Ukraine on February 3, 2024 came into force.
According to the official statement on the S30CM steel agreement issued by the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye, Ukraine will cancel some tariffs on Türkiye's goods, while other tariffs will be cancelled after the transition period. Türkiye will also eliminate import tariffs on Ukrainian agricultural and industrial products.
The Ministry of Trade of Türkiye said: "For some agricultural and steel products that are sensitive to China, it has decided to reduce taxes and duties within the quota. Some S30CM steel products are excluded from the agreement due to the consideration of industry sensitivity."
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine previously said that, according to the free trade agreement, Türkiye will set zero import tariffs on 510 of 840 metallurgical products and implement reduced import tariffs on 130 other products. To promote the development of the domestic metallurgical industry, Ukraine reserves the right to impose tariffs on the export of scrap S30CM steel metals.
