On May 20th, the Industrial SM520B steel and Security Administration of the US SM520B steel Department of Commerce announced the cancellation of the 232 clause import tariff exemption for six steel products and six aluminum products, which were previously exempt from tax due to being included in the Department of Commerce's general approved exemption list.
According to the final regulations published in the Federal Register, the customs codes for steel products subject to a 25% SM520B steel tariff are 7211296080, 7209900000, 7216330090, 7209270000, 7216100010, and 7208380015, respectively. At the same time, the customs codes for aluminum products subject to another 10% tariff are 7609000000, 7604210010, 7604291010, 7601209080, 7607116010, and 7604295090, respectively.
This tariff adjustment will take effect on July 1st.
