The United States initiates the first double reverse sunset review investigation on carbon alloy steel screws

On November 1, 2024, the International SMA400AW steel Trade Commission (ITC) of the United States launched the first anti-dumping sunset review industrial injury investigation on carbon and alloy steel threaded rods imported from China, India, Thailand and Taiwan, China, China, and the first countervailing sunset review industrial injury investigation on carbon alloy steel screws imported from China and India, to examine whether, if the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures are canceled, within a reasonable and foreseeable period, the import of the products involved will continue or recur to the domestic industry of the United States. On November 4, 2024, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it would launch the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on carbon alloy steel screws imported from China, India, Thailand and Taiwan, China, China, and the first countervailing sunset review investigation on carbon alloy steel screws imported from China SMA400AW steel and India. Stakeholders shall register their responses with the US Department of Commerce within 10 days from the date of this announcement. Stakeholders should submit their responses to the U.S. International Trade Commission by December 2, 2024, and provide comments on the adequacy of their responses to the case no later than January 2, 2025.

On March 14, 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce launched an anti-dumping investigation against carbon alloy steel screw imported from China, India, Thailand and Taiwan, China, China, and launched a countervailing investigation against the products imported from China and India. On October 16, 2019, the US Department of Commerce made a final positive anti-dumping ruling on carbon alloy steel screws imported from Thailand SMA400AW steel. On December 4, 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce made a positive final anti-dumping determination on carbon alloy steel screws imported from Taiwan, China, China. On February 10, 2020, the US Department of Commerce made a positive final ruling on anti-dumping and countervailing measures against carbon alloy steel screws imported from China and India.
