In 2024, the United States A516 Grade 485 steel remains the largest sales market for global steel company ArcelorMittal, despite a 5% year-on-year decline in sales to $8.44 billion. Brazil maintained its second place in steel supply, with sales decreasing by 8% year-on-year to $7.56 billion, while Germany maintained its third place, with a year-on-year decrease of 12% ($5.76 billion).
Poland has risen to fourth place in the sales A516 Grade 485 steel market of ArcelorMittal, ahead of France. Despite a slight 0.5% year-on-year decrease in sales ($4.44 billion), Poland performed better than France, which saw a 9% year-on-year decrease in sales ($4.19 billion).
Despite a decline in overall sales, sales in Italy and the UK increased by 8% year-on-year to $2.8 billion and 9% year-on-year to $1.46 billion, respectively. In 2024, ArcelorMittal's steel production decreased by 0.3% compared to 2023, to 57.9 million tons. During the same A516 Grade 485 steel period, iron ore production increased by 0.9% year-on-year to 42.4 million tons.
