The average import shipping cost of finished products in Brazil decreased in January

The Brazilian A387 Grade 5 steel Foreign Trade Administration COMEX has released the average shipping cost for steel imports in the country in January. For hot coils, the price from China is $54/ton, and the price from Egypt A387 Grade 5 steel is $32/ton. For cold rolls, the price is 48 US dollars/ton from China, 44 US dollars/ton from Sweden, and 302 US dollars/ton from South Korea. For coated sheets, China costs $60/ton, Japan costs $174/ton, South Korea costs $203/ton, and India costs $126/ton. Germany costs $70/ton, Italy costs $125/ton, the UK costs $49/ton, and Hong Kong costs $129/ton.

For wire, China costs $44/ton, Egypt costs $40/ton, and Russia costs $58/ton. In terms of rebar, Egypt costs $36/ton, South Korea costs $95/ton, and imports from China cost $104/ton. In January of this year, Brazil A387 Grade 5 steel imported 72% of its total steel products from China. The average shipping cost for Brazilian steel imports in January was $67 per ton, compared to $100 per ton in December.
