Türkiye's S355NL steel sheet manufacturer Atakas announced on September 20 that its new galvanizing production line has been put into production. The commissioning of this new production line has increased the annual production capacity of galvanizing from 400000 tons to 650000 tons, with a growth rate of 62.5%. This move aims to enhance market competitiveness and meet the growing S355NL steel demand for high-performance steel in the automotive and home appliance industries.
The annual pickling capacity of Atakas steel is 1.2 million tons, and the annual cold rolling capacity is 700000 tons. Currently, over 50% of the company's production is used for export, and the annual processing capacity of Iskenderun Port has reached 10 million tons, providing strong support for its export business.
The price of hot dip galvanizing (HDG) in Türkiye S355NL steel was US $750/ton EXW on September 13, down 16% since the beginning of 2024.
