Cemtas, a large alloy bar S355 Grade B steel producer in Türkiye, said in the regulatory document submitted on September 10 that although the decline in demand affected the steel price, the company's production and sales in the first half of 2024 increased simultaneously.
The company stated that domestic and export demand are relatively strong, with higher export demand supporting production.
The production of Cemtas' smelting workshop reached 82660 tons in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 10.8%; The output of the steel rolling mill was 75500 tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%.
The sales volume of finished S355 Grade B steel products was 74300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%. Its domestic sales volume was 49700 tons, an increase of 5.2%, while its export volume surged to 22080 tons, an increase of 41%.
Cemtas emphasized that natural gas and electricity prices determine the steel pricing of steel mills, but demand fluctuations will continue to affect global steel and raw material S355 Grade B steel prices.
The smelting workshop of Cemtas has a production capacity of 193200 tons per year, and the rolling mill has a production capacity of 207400 tons per year.
