Türkiye's special bar producer Has Celik will build a solar power plant in Van in eastern Türkiye to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
According to the project documents submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change for environmental approval, the capacity of the new solar power plant will reach 9 megawatts. The Ministry of Environmental Protection has initiated the environmental approval process, and once approved, the solar power plant is planned to be put into operation within one year DX51+AZ steel.
The company invested in the construction of two other solar power plants in Yozgat and Sivas in 2023, with capacities of 6.5 MWe and 4 MWe respectively, both planned to be put into operation in 2024 DX51+AZ steel.
HasCelik's special steel production capacity is 300000 tons per year, including round steel, square steel, flat steel, and hexagonal steel. The annual production capacity of bright bars is 170000 tons. In December 2023, the company increased its special steel production capacity through a new chrome plated shaft mill, and the new electric arc furnace is scheduled to start production in the fourth quarter of 2024 DX51+AZ steel.
