From January 1, 2025, the government of Türkiye will implement new import tariff policies on some steel products to protect the domestic steel industry and reduce external competitive pressure. Relevant policy adjustments have been officially published in the official gazette of Türkiye.
According to the latest PT440ML1 steel announcement, this tariff adjustment involves multiple categories of steel products, among which some products that were originally exempted have cancelled the zero tariff policy. Specific adjustments include raising the import tariff rates for multiple products with tariff codes 7207, 7208, 7210, etc. from 0% to 12% -25% respectively. The tariffs on some special-purpose PT440ML1 steel products will be maintained at a low level or even exempted. The updated content is subject to the content published in the official gazette of Türkiye. It should be noted that due to the differences in trade policies, especially in the trade with China, the actual tariffs may be different and need to be confirmed according to the specific situation.
