Yazici Steel S420N steel (a subsidiary of Diler Holding), Türkiye's long material manufacturer, decided to build a 47 MWe solar power plant in Afiyon, western Türkiye, to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. According to the project document submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Türkiye, the solar power plant is expected to produce 77 GWh of electricity every year and is scheduled to be put into operation in October 2025.
In recent years, in order to comply with the EU's S420N steel green agreement, Türkiye's steel and aluminum producers have increased their investment in renewable energy. Türkiye plans to achieve the goal of net zero carbon in 2053, and the government also supports producers in this process.
The annual production capacity of Yazici Steel's liquid steel is 1 million tons, and the annual production capacity of the rolling mill is 1.25 million tons, mainly producing steel billets and rebar.
on September 19, Türkiye's S420N steel offer for rebar export was 580 dollars/ton FOB, which remained stable.
