Erdemir, the largest comprehensive flat steel producer in Türkiye SA325 steel, affiliated to OYAK Metallurgical Group, plans to put No.4 coke oven into production at the beginning of 2025, which is one of the important measures to achieve the goal of net zero emissions. General Manager Niyazi Askin Peker announced on September 20th that the coke oven has an annual production capacity of 800000 tons and is equipped with advanced automation and dust removal systems aimed at reducing pollution emissions.
Peker stated, "This will help improve Eldermere's environmental performance." OYAK Group recently announced a $3.2 billion SA325 steel green transformation investment, primarily through external financing, with plans to gradually implement it by 2030.
According to OYAK Group's plan, carbon emissions will be reduced by 25% by 2030, 40% by 2040, and net zero emissions are planned to be achieved by 2050, but current emission data has not been disclosed SA325 steel.
