According to TUIK data, from January to April 2024, Türkiye imported 217524 tons of cold rolled products, down 18.6% year on year.
Some market participants said that due to the trade tightening policy issued by the Central Bank of Türkiye and the Gurbang holiday a week ago, the local market transactions in Türkiye were relatively quiet. Although the demand will recover to a certain extent after the holiday, the overall demand is still limited. At present, the SPFC590Y steel factory price of cold rolling in Türkiye is stable at about 720-730 dollars/ton EXW.
According to the data, from January to April 2024, South Korea SPFC590Y steel is the largest supplier of cold rolling in Türkiye, with the supply of 67380 tons, down 44.1% year on year. The main suppliers are Russia (49976 tons), China (27676 tons), Spain (18681 tons), and Belgium (11469 tons).
In October 2023, Türkiye announced that it would impose anti-dumping duties on hot rolls from China, Japan, India and Russia. Some market participants believed that Türkiye SPFC590Y steel might also conduct anti-dumping investigations on cold rolls in the next step.
