According to the latest data PT550M steel released by Türkiye Statistics Bureau, in November 2024, Türkiye's import of hot rolled coil (HRC) increased by 21% year on year to 396300 tons, of which 33% came from Russia, reaching 130800 tons, a significant increase over 15800 tons in the same period last year, three times the number in October.
The quantity of hot-rolled coils imported from China PT550M steel has decreased. In November, Türkiye imported 112700 tons of hot rolled coils from China, a year-on-year decrease of 30% and a quarter on quarter decrease of 25%. This change was mainly affected by Türkiye's implementation of anti-dumping duties in October.
Egypt became another important supplier to Türkiye in November, with imports of 98600 tons, while Türkiye almost did not import hot rolled coils from Egypt in the same period last year.
In addition, Türkiye PT550M steel also imported 26500 tons and 10000 tons of hot rolled coils from South Korea and France in November.
