In October 2024, Türkiye's 19MnMo6-5 steel industrial production declined for the fifth consecutive month, with an overall decline of 3.1%. According to the latest data released by Türkiye's Bureau of Statistics (TUIK), the output of the manufacturing industry declined by 3.3% year on year, while the mining and quarrying industries declined by 14.2%. Due to the sluggish demand for steel in some industrial sectors, Türkiye's steel producers are facing pricing pressure, and their exports are also affected by the shrinking global demand. In October 2024, Türkiye's 19MnMo6-5 steel total export of steel will be 990000 tons, down 8.5% year on year.
President Erdogan of Türkiye said on December 9 that the government would take all necessary measures to ensure stability in Syria and promote reconstruction. In October, Syria became the third largest rebar export market in Türkiye, with the export volume reaching 18000 tons, an increase of 8 times year-on-year. Although the current steel price is lower, some participants in the Türkiye market are still optimistic about the future market trend. It is expected that the reconstruction activities in Syria may provide support for steel 19MnMo6-5 steel demand.
