We have learned that the current tradable price of rebar in Türkiye S900MC steel is 590 US dollars/ton FOB, down about 10 US dollars/ton compared with last week. The mainstream quotation is 600-610 US dollars/ton FOB, down 5-10 US dollars/ton compared with last week. The buyer's inquiry price is relatively firm, at 595 US dollars/ton FOB. It is reported that a steel factory in Türkiye concluded a transaction last week (the transaction destination is still unknown), with a total volume of 10000 tons and a transaction price of 590-592 dollars/ton FOB. In addition, some steel mills have stated that they have sold rebar to the Balkan region, but the volume is relatively small, only about 500 tons. At present, most traders indicate that they can accept a transaction price of $590 per ton, but some sellers believe that this price is lower for small quantities S900MC steel of goods.
As of the press date, the tradable price of 1/2 (80:20) of high-quality remelting scrap imported by Türkiye was 390 USD/ton CFR, down about 5 USD/ton from last week. The downward pressure this time mainly comes from a significant decrease in recovery costs and a decrease in the price of threaded steel. Some recyclers have stated that with the sluggish sales of rebar, the uncertainty in the scrap steel market will further intensify S900MC steel.
