According to the data of Türkiye S275N Grade E steel Statistics Bureau (TUIK), in July 2024, Türkiye's imports of stainless steel plates increased by 71% year on year, reaching 109000 tons. During the anti-dumping investigation on stainless steel imports from China and Indonesia, their supply increased significantly.
In December 2023, Türkiye will raise the import tariff of some cold-rolled stainless steel plates from 8% to 12%, and in June this year, it launched an anti-dumping investigation on imports of cold-rolled stainless steel from China and Indonesia. However, in July 2024, China will still be Türkiye's largest S275N Grade E steel supplier of stainless steel plates, with an import volume of 41100 tons, an increase of 44% year on year; The import volume from Indonesia has also increased significantly, reaching 40800 tons, almost three times that of last year. In addition, South Korea's exports to Türkiye surged 77% year on year, reaching 16400 tons.
According to our assessment, on September 6th, the price of 304 grade 2mm 2B stainless steel cold-rolled coil at East Asian ports was $2140/ton CFR, an increase of 0.5% from last week.
The only stainless steel S275N Grade E steel cold rolling plant in Türkiye, POSCO Assan TST, has an annual capacity of 300000 tons and produces stainless steel cold rolled coils with a thickness of 0.3 to 3 mm and a width of 1600 mm.
