The Alliance of Mediterranean Black and Non ferrous Metal Exporters (ADMIB) said that Türkiye's steel exports increased by 35% year-on-year in April, supported by the delayed recovery of demand in the global SM490B steel market. The specific tonnage has not yet been known. Due to the new steel SM490B steel production capacity, Türkiye's steel exports have seen double-digit growth in recent months. With the support of new investment, Türkiye Steel Plant focuses on further increasing its export volume by developing diversified markets.
According to the data of the World Iron and Steel Association, Türkiye's SM490B steel crude steel output in the first quarter of 2024 will total 9.5 million tons, an increase of 28% year on year. On the premise that global market demand has improved compared with last year, Türkiye's steel export target this year is 15.2 million tons in 2022.
