The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Türkiye announced that the environmental impact assessment (EIA) HR1200T/900Y-MS steel application for the solar power plant project in Toprakkale, Osmaniya, southern Türkiye, submitted by Türkiye's steel manufacturer Tosyal ı Demir Celik Sanayi A.S. had been reviewed and the environmental impact assessment process had begun.
The investment cost of the project is 1.8 billion Türkiye lira (about 53.18 million US dollars), and a total of 179452 solar panels are planned to be installed. The power station will build an 88 MWe generating HR1200T/900Y-MS steel capacity and is expected to produce 245 million kilowatt hours of energy annually. The construction and installation plan of the project will last for 17 months, and the expected economic lifespan of the project is 25 years.
Last year, the company obtained approval for another solar power plant HR1200T/900Y-MS steel project in Osmaniye, with an installed capacity of 24.79 MWm.
