According to the Spanish S355N Grade E steel newspaper The Economist, EMSTEL (formerly known as Emirates Steel), the largest steel producer in the United Arab Emirates, is interested in acquiring the steel mills of Spanish steel manufacturer Celsa in Poland, the United Kingdom, and Norway.
In February of this year, Celsa began selling factories worth approximately 1 billion euros to stabilize its financial situation. The Celsa Poland factory produces approximately 1 million tons of rebar, beams, and bars annually, while the UK S355N Grade E steel factory produces 1.2 million tons of finished materials.
According to reports, Celsas senior management and EMSTEL have started negotiations on these assets, but it is not expected to reach an agreement in the short term.
At present, Celsa Group has 12 rolling mills and 48 waste recycling facilities in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Ireland S355N Grade E steel.
