On September 5, 2024, the website of the UK Trade Remedy Agency published an anti-dumping investigation notice with the code TS0055. The Secretary of State of the UK S420M Grade D steel submitted an anti-dumping review of organic coated steel products related to China to the Trade Remedy Agency (TRA).
The goods under investigation include: organic coated steel products, non alloy steel and alloy steel (excluding stainless steel) flat rolled S420M Grade D steel products with at least one side coated with paint, varnish or plastic coating, but do not include so-called (sandwich panels) used for construction purposes, products finally coated with zinc powder (zinc rich coating, with a zinc content of 70% or more by weight), and products with chromium or tin metal coating on the substrate.
The customs codes of the products involved are: 7210708011, 7210708091, 7212408001, 7212408021, 7212408091, 722599011, 7225990091, 7226997011, 7226997091.
According to data from Steel Union, China's S420M Grade D steel exports of coated plates (strips) to the UK for the whole year of 2023 were 3500 tons, with a cumulative export of 3600 tons in the first eight months of this year, an increase of 42% year-on-year.
