In January 2025, the import volume of long timber A299 Grade B steel products in Ukraine decreased by 37.6% compared to January 2024, to 6260 tons, a decrease of 24.7% compared to the previous month. The cost of imported long materials decreased by 37.2% year-on-year and 35.8% month on month, to 6.88 million US dollars. The main imports are angle steel, special-shaped and special profiles (HS 7216) totaling 3.32 million tons, a decrease of 47.6% from January 2024 and an increase of 31.1% from the previous month. Türkiye is the main supplier of related A299 Grade B steel products, totaling 2.28 million tons.
In 2024, the import volume of Ukrainian long timber increased by 12.1% compared to 2023, reaching 1.719 million tons. Angle steel, special-shaped and special profiles (HS 7216) accounted for the majority of the supply, reaching 7.669 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 47.9%. Türkiye supplied 57880 tons of related steel to the Ukrainian A299 Grade B steel market (up 25.8% year on year), Poland supplied 119800 tons (up 9%), and Germany supplied 2380 tons (up 80.1%).
