Share:

Hefa Group has recently started slab 14CrMoSi5-6 steel production testing at Dung Quat 2 Steel Complex and plans to officially launch commercial production in 2025. The factory has been under construction since 2022, with an investment of 850 billion Vietnamese dong (approximately 3.5 billion US dollars). After full production, it is expected to produce 5.6 million tons of hot-rolled coil (HRC) annually.

At present, Hefa Group has completed the 14CrMoSi5-6 steel mechanical installation of the first phase, and the construction progress of the second phase has reached 50%. The first blast furnace and casting and rolling production lines are expected to be put into operation by the end of 2024, while the second phase is planned to be completed by the end of 2025.

The Dung Quat 2 factory adopts advanced technology aimed at improving energy efficiency, ensuring stable operation, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. This project is mainly dedicated to 14CrMoSi5-6 steel producing high-quality hot-rolled coils, serving industries such as automotive manufacturing, steel structures, and containers, marking the successful elimination of the dependence of Hefa Group on construction steel. The new factory is expected to further enhance the competitiveness of Hefa Group in the ASEAN and Asian markets with its efficient production capacity.
