Despite the trend of recovery in the global hot rolled steel coil market prices, Hoa Phat's hot rolled steel coil production remains high.
It is understood that since Hoa Phat began DX56D+AS100 steel producing hot rolled steel coils in May 2020, after more than three years, Hoa Phat's cumulative production officially reached the milestone of 8 million tons of hot rolled steel coils (HRC) on October 24, 2023. At present, the annual demand for hot coils in Vietnam is about 13 million tons, and Vietnam needs to import about 60%. As the only enterprise in Vietnam that possesses hot rolled steel coil production technology and is capable of producing hot rolled steel coils DX56D+AS100 steel, Hoa Phat has established its position as the first DX56D+AS100 steel manufacturer in Southeast Asia.
Hoa Phat stated that it is expected to continue increasing the production of the second phase project of the Dung Quat factory in early 2025, with a production capacity of 5.6 million tons per year, thereby increasing the crude steel production capacity of Hefa to over 14 million tons per year.
