According to the latest statistics from the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam S420NL steel, the import and export volume between Vietnam and China reached nearly 130.8 billion US dollars in the first eight months of this year. Among them, Vietnam's exports to China amounted to 38.28 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%; Vietnam's imports from China S420NL steel amounted to 92.5 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 34.25%. The main commodities exported to China include mobile phones and their parts, computers, electronic products and their parts, cameras, camcorders and their parts, fruits and vegetables, as well as machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, etc; The goods imported from the Chinese market mainly include machinery and equipment, chemicals and chemical products, various plastics and plastic products, textile materials, leather and shoes, steel, building materials and other products and raw materials for export production.
Currently, Vietnam's trade deficit with China is 54.22 billion US dollars, nearly 5 billion US dollars higher than in 2023. China is Vietnam's first market with a trade volume exceeding 100 billion US dollars, with an average monthly import and export volume of around 16 billion US dollars from January to August. With the improvement of the trade situation in the first half of 2024, it is expected that the trade volume between Vietnam and China S420NL steel will approach the $200 billion mark this year.
