According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, as of June 7th, the first hot coil production line of the second phase of Vietnam's Hoa Phat Rongju will be completed in 99 days, and the first batch of commercial hot coils A1008 EDDS steel will be produced within 262 days. According to Mytseel, the project covers a total area of 280 hectares and has a total investment of approximately 8.5 billion Vietnamese dong. It is mainly used to produce high-quality hot coils, with a maximum total production capacity of 5.6 million tons per year. This will also drive the total crude steel production capacity of Hoa Phat to increase from 8.5 million tons to 14.5 million tons per year.
Compared with the Rongju Phase I project, the blast furnace volume of the Rongju Phase II project is twice that of the Phase I project, which is 2500 cubic meters, which is beneficial for reducing energy consumption. At present, there are over 20000 installation and technical personnel from nearly 1000 contractors in the second phase of the Hoa Phat A1008 EDDS steel Rongju project, jointly responsible for design, manufacturing, and construction to ensure that the overall construction and A1008 EDDS steel equipment are carried out as scheduled. Hoa Phat Group stated that the completion of Rongju Phase II will help it rank among the top 30 largest steel manufacturers in the world by 2025, further consolidating its production scale and reducing production costs.
