Vietnam’s Hot Roll Market is Stable but Rising

Share:

The Vietnamese hot rolled coil import market stabilized and rebounded last week after falling to a low point at the end of March. Last Wednesday, the JSH310W steel quotation for Q235B hot coils imported from Vietnam with a shipping schedule from May to early June was approximately $515 per ton CFR Vietnam, while the quotation for Q195 hot coils (3mm) was $508 per ton CFR Vietnam. Currently, market traders have high inventory of Q195, resulting in light market transactions. The price has slightly increased today, with Q235 prices remaining relatively stable, but Q195 prices have slightly increased. The current quotation is at $515 per ton CFR Vietnam JSH310W steel.

At the same time, Hefa has sold out its domestically distributed hot coils. Last week's quotation decreased by $50/ton compared to last week's quotation. The price of SAE1006 or SS400 grade heat coils delivered by the company in June is equivalent to $550/ton CFR (excluding value-added tax). The market generally reflects that the price is very competitive. It is reported that Hefa's monthly heat coil production is between 260000 and 270000 tons, of which about 160000 tons will be allocated to the domestic JSH310W steel market and 100000 tons will be used for export.
