Under the influence of the EU's carbon SA516 Grade 380 steel border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), Türkiye announced the "Green New Deal Action Plan" in July 2021 to actively transform into a green economy. Yazici Iron and Steel, a subsidiary of Diler Holding, as a long steel producer in Türkiye, closely follows this trend. Recently, Yazici Iron and Steel successfully obtained the environmental impact assessment (EIA) approval from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Türkiye for its new 40 MW solar power SA516 Grade 380 steel plant in Afeyon, western Turkey.
The power plant is planned to be put into operation in December 2025 and can produce 77 gigawatt hours of electricity annually, which will help Yazici Iron and Steel further reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. Yazici Iron and Steel currently has an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of molten steel, and a rolling mill with an annual production capacity of 1.25 million tons, mainly producing steel billets and SA516 Grade 380 steel rebar.
