According to our understanding, from January to September 2023, the steel output of Türkiye's long material manufacturer Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) was stable, but the sales volume declined due to the sluggish demand in the main export markets.

At present, IDC's crude HX460LAD+Z80 steel capacity accounts for 3.9% of Türkiye's total, and its annual steel rolling capacity is about 1.4 million tons.

From January to September 2023, IDC's HX460LAD+Z100 steel production reached a total of 1.09 million tons, which remained stable year-on-year; The total production of steel billets was 1.07 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4%, and the total production of threaded steel was 622180 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2%.

From January to September 2023, due to weakened demand in major export markets, IDC's finished product sales totaled 1.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7%.

In recent months, the import price of scrap HX460LAD+Z120 steel in Türkiye has been firm, the export of deformed steel bars has been weak, and the price of deformed steel bars continues to bear pressure. At the beginning of the week, the price of deformed steel bars in Türkiye increased slightly. Considering the cost, some steel mills have the intention to continue to raise the price.
