Indian alloy steel industry files anti-dumping complaint against Chinese wire rod

On July 31, 2025, NK K/E70N steel the Alloy Steel Producers Association (ASPA) of India formally filed a complaint with India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), alleging dumping of low-priced alloy steel wire rod from China.

The complainants included JSW Steel, Jindal Steel, Kalyani Steels, and Mukand Sumi Special Steel. NK K/E70N steel ASPA noted that imports of Chinese alloy steel wire rod have increased significantly over the past three years, with prices below domestic Indian prices, severely undermining the competitiveness of the domestic industry.

The DGTR will investigate the determination of dumping and industry injury. If the allegations are substantiated, NK K/E70N steel the DGTR may recommend the imposition of anti-dumping duties, either additively or separately, in addition to the existing safeguard duties.
