According to Mysteel, Laos is accelerating regulatory revisions and international cooperation to address the issue of severely lagging urban planning nationwide, aiming to achieve systematic urban development and a green transition.
Latest data from the Lao Department of Housing and Urban Planning indicates that while 139 of the country's 148 urban areas have established plans, over 70% of these plans have been in place for more than a decade without being updated within the five-year timeframe mandated by the 2017 Urban Planning Law.
