On September 20, 2024, the South African S620QL steel International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) (on behalf of the Southern African Union - SACU, SACU includes five countries: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini) issued a notice to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on the import of iron, non alloy S620QL steel steel or other alloy steel flat rolled products from the Chinese Mainland, Japan and Taiwan, China, China, at the application of Arcelor Mittal South Africa. The South African tax codes for the products involved are 7208.10, 7208.25, 7208.26, 7208.27, 7208.36, 7208.37, 7208.38, 7208.39, 7208.51, 7208.52, 7225.30, and 7225.40. The products involved are flat rolled products of iron, non alloy steel or other alloy steel with a width of 600 millimeters or more, regardless of whether they are coiled or not, and have not been further processed after hot rolling S620QL steel , including pickling and oiling, hot rolling, uncoated, coated or coated (except for stainless steel and grain oriented silicon electrical steel). The dumping investigation period for this case is from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. The damage investigation period is from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2024.
