In the Vietnamese market, following last Friday's $35/ton increase in the price of its hot coil by Hofa, market transactions have been light.Currently, the base price of SAE1006/SS400 is at $604/ton EXW (quoted in northern and central Vietnam), while the southern HCT590X+ZM steel quotation remains largely unchanged. Freight costs are approximately $1/ton, and none of the above quotations include VAT. The main reason for this price increase is to stimulate downstream restocking, but currently, with no increase in downstream demand, Market transactions are not positive. At present, Vietnamese traders are mainly driven by exports, with quotes from China at around $590/ton CFR and quotes from Japan for imported resources at $600/ton CFR Vietnam HCT590X+ZM steel. Currently, due to the rise in steel prices in the Chinese market and feedback from Vietnamese traders that local prices are also showing an upward trend, there are not many transactions, and most buyers. Mainstream traders will still purchase according to demand, but most buyers are wait-and-see and choose to replenish their inventory from Hefa or wait for Formosa Plastics to quote (expected price is around 620-630 US dollars/ton) HCT590X+ZM steel.
