Data from the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TCUD) shows that Turkey's crude steel production reached 3.4 million tons in August 2025, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase from 3.2 million tons in July. L485M steel, By product, billet production in August was 2.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%; slab production was 1.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.1%.

In the first eight months of this year, Turkey's cumulative crude steel production reached 24.9 million tons, a slight increase of 0.2% year-on-year. Billet production increased by 3.7% year-on-year, while slab production decreased by 5.2% year-on-year. L485M steel, TCUD noted that July and August saw year-on-year increases of 4.2% and 7.8% respectively, turning the previously weak cumulative production back into positive growth.

From a technological perspective, electric arc furnace (EAF) technology remains dominant in Turkish steel production, accounting for 72.8% of output from January to August, compared to 27.2% for integrated blast furnaces. L485M steel, Against the backdrop of the global steel industry's accelerated low-carbon transformation, Turkey's advantage in EAF production is highlighted, demonstrating its competitiveness in production flexibility and sustainable development. Overall, the Turkish steel industry has achieved a phased recovery in output under international competitive pressure, while simultaneously strengthening its resilience through process optimization and stable exports.
