Türkiye’s rebar exports exceed 2 million tons in the first half of 2025, with significant changes in export structure

According to the latest data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey's total rebar exports reached 2.15 million tons in the first half of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 26.5%. In terms of destination countries, Yemen remained the largest export market, importing 380,000 tons of Turkish rebar in the first half of the year, a 33% year-on-year increase. Romania ranked second, with imports reaching 236,500 tons, a significant 74% year-on-year increase. Albania ranked third, with 125,500 tons, a 28% year-on-year increase. Other export markets include Kosovo (88,600 tons), Northern Cyprus (85,500 tons), the United Kingdom (83,000 tons), Chile (53,200 tons), the United Arab Emirates (50,200 tons) and Belgium (46,200 tons), all of which maintain a stable shipment rhythm.
As of August 6th, the FOB export price of Turkish rebar was $542/ton, with the market generally maintaining a wait-and-see attitude. Industry insiders point out that, amidst continued infrastructure investment in some Middle Eastern and European countries and intensified geopolitical volatility, NK K/DH40 steel Turkish steelmakers have further strengthened their reliance on the Middle Eastern market, with regional political risks also impacting export strategies. Furthermore, the dynamic adjustments in Turkey's export structure also reflect its flexible allocation of steel products in the international market.
