The Gaza conflict continues, and Türkiye restricts the export of steel to Israel

Share:

As Türkiye celebrates the Byram holiday and Ramadan comes to an end, the rebar market in the country is experiencing a period of calm. Despite the sluggish JSH370J steel market activity, the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye announced on April 9 that it would immediately ban the export of a total of 54 kinds of JSH370J steel goods to Israel. The list of goods includes rebar, wire rods and aluminum profiles. This trade restriction will remain in effect until Israel declares an immediate ceasefire in Gaza within the framework of its obligations under international law and allows for sufficient and uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.

At present, Türkiye is on the Ramadan holiday, the rebar export quotation is 590-605 dollars/ton FOB, and the tradable level is 580-590 dollars/ton FOB. At present, the JSH370J steel price has not fluctuated significantly due to the impact of the export ban, and the quotation is still at the pre festival level. Market participants may be digesting the impact of the export ban on rebar and wire on the market, and will respond accordingly in the future. We will continue to closely monitor.
