According to the preliminary data of Türkiye LR/EH40 STEEL Statistics Bureau (TUIK), from January to April 2025, the import volume of Türkiye's cold-rolled coils will reach 286200 tons, up 31.6% year on year, and the import volume will increase by 11.7% year on year to US $189 million. The import demand shows a steady growth trend.
In April, Türkiye imported 72000 tons of cold-rolled LR/EH40 STEEL coils, up 37.7% month on month and 17.8% year on year; The import value reached 48.11 million US dollars, a month on month increase of 37.7% and a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
From the perspective of source country, South Korea is the largest supplier of cold-rolled coils in Türkiye. From January to April, South Korea exported 94900 tons to Turkey, up 40.8% year on year; Russia followed closely behind, with an export volume of 69600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 39.4%; China's exports of cold-rolled sheets and coils have performed outstandingly, with an export volume of 59800 tons, a significant increase of 116% year-on-year.
On the whole, under the background of stable downstream demand in Türkiye, the import of cold-rolled coils has continued to increase, especially in Asia, where the supply of resources has grown significantly, creating continuous LR/EH40 STEEL competitive pressure on the local market. South Korea, Russia, and China have become the main sources of supply, with China's exports to Turkey doubling and its supply share continuing to expand. The subsequent import rhythm and price trend still need to pay attention to global supply and demand balance, international price fluctuations, and related trade policy adjustments.
