On August 7, 2025, NK K/D63 steel the Turkish Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2025/6, issuing an affirmative final ruling in the first sunset review of the safeguard measures on imported steel grinding balls and similar articles (Turkish: "öğütücü bilyalar ve öğütmeye mahsus benzeri eşya" ve "öğütücü bilyalar ve öğütmeye mahsus diğer eşya"). The ruling recommends that safeguard duties continue to be imposed on the products for a period of three years: USD 185 per ton from August 26, 2025, NK K/D63 steel to August 25, 2026; USD 180 per ton from August 26, 2026, to August 25, 2027; and USD 175 per ton from August 26, 2027, to August 25, 2028. Implementation of the measures is subject to the relevant Turkish Presidential Decree. The Turkish tax numbers of the products involved are 7325.91.00.00.00 and 7326.11.00.00.00.
On October 9, 2021, Turkey initiated a safeguard investigation into imports of grinding balls for steel mills and similar products. NK K/D63 steel On July 27, 2022, Turkey issued an affirmative final ruling on the case. On March 4, 2025, Turkey initiated the first sunset review investigation into the case.
