On August 29, 2025, the Executive Committee of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission (GECEX) issued Resolution No. 765 of 2025, making a final affirmative determination on the antidumping duties imposed on alloy or non-alloy tin-plated chrome sheet coils (Portuguese: folhas metálicas de aço carbono, ligado ou não ligado, de qualquer largura com espessura inferior a 0.5 mm) originating in China. L485 steel The resolution decided to impose antidumping duties on the Chinese products in question for a period of five years, at a rate of US$284.34–499.35 per ton (details of the duties are shown in the attached table). The Mercosur tariff codes for the products in question are 7210.12.00, 7210.50.00, 7212.10.00, and 7212.50.90. This resolution took effect on the date of its issuance.
On March 1, 2024, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, L485 steel Trade and Services issued Announcement No. 9 of 2024, initiating an anti-dumping investigation on alloy or non-alloy tin-plated chrome-plated sheet coils of any width and thickness less than 0.5 mm, in response to an application submitted by the Brazilian domestic company Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional on October 6, 2023. On September 23, 2024, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services issued Announcement No. 49 of 2024, making a preliminary affirmative determination in the case.On October 21, 2024, the Executive Committee of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission issued Resolution No. 649 of 2024, deciding to impose provisional anti-dumping duties on alloy or non-alloy tin-plated chrome-plated sheet coils of any width and thickness less than 0.5 mm originating in China for a period not exceeding 6 months, with a duty rate of US$251.97-341.28 per ton (see the preliminary ruling of this case for details of the duty). L485 steel The resolution took effect from the date of its issuance.
