Canada imposes provisional anti-dumping duties on carbon steel wire and alloy steel wire from China

On September 4, 2025, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced a preliminary antidumping determination on certain carbon and alloy steel wires originating in or imported from China, Taiwan, India, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

According to the CBSA announcement, starting September 4, 2025, provisional anti-dumping duties will be levied on the aforementioned products upon customs clearance. X52 steel,The preliminary dumping margins and provisional duty rates are as follows: China 3.5%-114.2%, Chinese Taipei 138.6%, India 138.6%, Italy 138.6%, Malaysia 3.7%-16.6%, Portugal 5.1%-43.5%, Spain 138.6%, Thailand 15.9%-29.6%, Turkey 24.3%-79.6%, and Vietnam 13.4%-138.6%.

On April 22, 2025, X52 steel,the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued a notice initiating an anti-dumping investigation into carbon steel wire and alloy steel wire originating in or imported from nine countries: China, India, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, and Taiwan, in response to an application submitted by Canadian companies Sivaco Wire Group 2004, L.P. and ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada G.P. The complainants alleged that the increase in dumped imports had caused material injury, specifically manifested in price suppression, lost sales, X52 steel,decreased market share, reduced net profit and profitability, lower capacity utilization, limited financing capabilities, and reduced employment.
