The Russian Ministry of Economic P355QH steel Development announced that it has decided to extend the export quota for scrap steel from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for the global market until the end of 2025, with a total export quota of 1.5 million tons. The new regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2025 and will continue until December 31.

According to the new regulations, scrap P355QH steel exports will be subject to a 5% tariff, with a benchmark price of at least 15 euros per ton. If the export volume exceeds the quota limit, a 5% tariff will be levied on the excess amount at a benchmark price of 290 euros per ton.

The Russian government stated that this measure aims to ensure the supply of scrap steel from domestic steel plants and prevent shortages caused by excessive exports. The Ministry of Economic Development pointed out that the increase in domestic raw material supply has played a positive role in enhancing steel production capacity, and this policy will help maintain the high growth rate and sustainable development of the Russian steel industry.

In the past few years, the Russian P355QH steel government has regulated domestic demand by regulating the export of key raw materials, and similar policies have significantly ensured the supply of raw materials for its steel industry. With the continuation of the 2025 policy, the supply of raw materials for Russian steel producers will be further guaranteed.
