Due to weak domestic demand and ongoing maintenance at some steel mills, Russian steel mills are expected to reduce their cold-rolled steel shipments in October.
According to preliminary October figures, cold-rolled coil shipments are projected to decrease by 2% to 316,000 tons. Although inventories decreased, traders did not increase orders, mainly due to intense market competition and continued downward pressure on retail prices. October export volume is expected to be approximately 84,000 tons, a 5% decrease compared to the previous month. From January to September 2025, Russia's total cold-rolled steel shipments amounted to approximately 3.02 million tons, a 12% decrease year-on-year. Of this, domestic shipments totaled 2.36 million tons (a 18% decrease year-on-year), and exports totaled 659,000 tons (a 23% increase year-on-year).
