At present, the mainstream export price of Russian slab remains stable at around 540-600 USD/ton FOB, and there is a significant difference between the high and low prices of slab quotations. A steel mill that has not been sanctioned may raise its quotation to $650/ton CIF Italy (approximately $610/ton FOB). However, some steel mills offer lower prices. Some sanctioned Russian steel mills offer US $540/ton CFR (about US $510-515/ton FOB) to Türkiye HX300YD+ZA steel.
In addition, the recent transaction situation of Southeast Asian slab exports to Europe remains good. We have learned that a batch of Indonesian HX300YD+ZA steel resources were exported to Mexico at a price of $610 per ton FOB. A batch of Malaysian resources were exported to Türkiye at a price of 620 US dollars/ton CFR, which was even higher than the import price of some hot coils in Türkiye. Although the import price is inverted, due to the free trade agreement between Türkiye and Türkiye, the import of Malay resources by Türkiye can be exempted from 22.4% tax. At present, Türkiye is initiating anti-dumping investigations on hot rolls from China, India, Japan and Russia, so Türkiye's buyers are also cautious about hot roll imports HX300YD+ZA steel.
