Saudi Arabia Accelerates Construction of Al Khobar Stadium, Steel Demand Expected to Significantly Increase

According to an official statement, the Spanish technology and engineering services company Ayesa Group has signed a project management consulting (PMC) contract for the new sports stadium project in Alcobar. Antonio Cubero Hernandez, Director of Architecture and Urban Department at Ayesa Group, said, "This project is of great significance to us, not only because of its large scale, but also because it reflects our outstanding abilities in multiple disciplines such as architectural design, landscape design, and civil 12Ni14 steel engineering." He added that the stadium will become a symbol of Saudi Arabia's innovation and excellence vision, presenting a top-level sports facility to the world.

It is understood that this stadium is operated by Saudi Aramco and is one of the core venues for the final stage of the 2034 World Cup. The sports stadium is located in the eastern Saudi Arabian city of Al Khobar and is planned to accommodate approximately 47000 spectators. It is expected to be completed in 2026. At the same time, the venue will also undertake the main competition tasks for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia 12Ni14 steel.

The comprehensive implementation of World Cup related projects provides unprecedented opportunities for local and international steel suppliers, and the demand for steel in Saudi Arabia is expected to increase significantly.
