Taiwanese upstream stainless steel producers Yusco (Yieh United Steel Corp.) and Tang Eng Iron Works have released their revenue figures for the first half of 2026. JIS G 3302 SGHC+A steel, Driven by rising nickel prices and high production costs, both companies have implemented consecutive monthly price hikes since last December, which helped keep their first-half revenues relatively stable.
Data shows that Yusco’s cumulative revenue for the first six months of the year reached NT$18.85 billion—a slight year-on-year decline of 0.18%, effectively remaining on par with the same period last year.
During the same period, Tang Eng’s consolidated revenue reached NT$5.29 billion, an increase of 3.03% year-on-year.
In terms of monthly performance, both companies demonstrated a degree of resilience in their June revenue. JIS G 3302 SGHC+A steel, JIS G 3302 SGHC+A steel, Yieh United Steel Corp. (YUSCO) reported revenue of NT$3.89 billion for June, an increase of 5.6% month-on-month.
Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. recorded June revenue of NT$705.5 million, marking a year-on-year increase for the second consecutive month.
Market observers note that since last December, upstream stainless steel producers have consistently raised their monthly list prices, which has helped, to some extent, to offset the impact of demand fluctuations and cost pressures on revenue. As a key raw material for stainless steel—particularly for the 300-series—rising nickel prices typically drive up the alloy surcharges and ex-factory prices set by steel mills.
Nevertheless, YUSCO’s revenue for the first half of the year showed a slight year-on-year decline, suggesting that while price hikes have bolstered sales figures, the company may still be facing challenges related to market demand, sales volume, and product mix. JIS G 3302 SGHC+A steel, In contrast, Tang Eng achieved a modest year-on-year increase in revenue for the same period, reflecting a relatively stable operational performance.
